Nicolas-Noël Boutet (August 31, 1761 - 1833) was a French gunsmith and bladesmith The weapons he signed were famous throughout Europe for the technical perfection and unparalleled artistic sense that the gunsmith brought to each of his creations.

Boutet was born in Paris, the son of royal gunsmith Noël Boutet, and became his father's assistant. In 1788 he married Leonie-Emilie Desainte, the daughter of one of his father's colleagues, which earned him an even better position at court and the title of `Gunmaker in Ordinary' with King Louis XVI of France.

During the French Revolution, he worked for Napoleon as director of the State Armory of Versailles . Under his direction, more than 600,000 weapons were made.
