The sword probably comes from Sweden, as Jean-Baptiste Bernadotte liked to present his followers with sabres and swords. Jean-Baptiste Bernadotte was first French Maréchal d'Empire, then Swedish commander-in-chief of the allied northern army against Napoleon. He later became King of Sweden and is the founder of the Swedish royal house of Bernadotte.
Gilded garda and brass shields in excellent condition.
