Sturdy, slightly curved, single-edged blade with a double-edged point and shallow fullers on both sides. Ornamental décor etched on the forte, with blueing and golding. The motto "La Loy La Nation" on the obverse. Brass knuckle-bow hilt decorated in relief. The leather-covered grip wrapped with brass wire, the pommel in the shape of a sculpted lion's head. The scabbard leather is new.
